Job Summary

The Instructional Systems Technologist I (IST I) joins an energetic Instructional Systems & Technology Team in their mission to provide advanced level support for Childrens of Alabama’s (COA) Learning Management System (LMS), meeting/collaboration space technologies, and development of technology enhanced training initiatives.

The primary role of the IST I is to assist with the utilization and operation of the audiovisual systems and infrastructure installed in training/meeting/collaboration spaces across multiple buildings in the hospital, as well as working with vendors in maintenance, both preventative and real-time, of all equipment in those spaces.

This position may also be engaged in video conferences, live streaming, live av event support, and video productions, across a range of unique spaces and equipment configurations, as well as quickly responding to Priority issues for troubleshooting and immediate resolution.

The position coordinates training/meeting/collaboration space needs with clinical managers/staff, information technology managers/staff, representatives, and other resources. The IST I will also monitor use of spaces and AV systems/processes using software tools, tracking and reporting on trends and ensuring quality assurance testing of AV equipment.

Education

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
-
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in audiovisual, media technology, Instructional Design, Health Care Administration or computer science related field.

Video or multimedia production certificate or degree.

Radio & TV production certificate or degree.

Experience
-
Minimum Qualifications
-
3-5 years of directly related experience.
-
1-3 AV experience working independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
-
Video conferencing solutions, such as Cisco telepresence systems, Webex Meetings, Webex Teams, or Zoom.
- Meida control and monitoring systens, (e.g. Creston), codecs, switcheers, and audio DSPs.

Experience with Windows 7/11, Mac OS X, and iOS operating systems.

Intermediate video editing skills using Premiere Pro, FCP or similar.

Preferred Qualifications
-
1-3 years of experience working with meeting/collaboration space technologies.

Strong experience in the integration of audio visual, video conferencing and closely related technologies.

Experience using the Adobe creative suite or similar software.

CTS certification
