  • Job Summary
    • The coordinator is a professional nurse who is an expert in the care of the palliative patient population/subspecialty area. The coordinator assumes a leadership role and supervisory responsibilities in the development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of the supportive and palliative end of life educational program throughout Children’s of Alabama.
  • Education
    • Education and experience as follows:
      • Master's degree in social work
      • Master's degree in counseling
      • Bachelor's degree in nursing
      • Master's degree in specialty or equivalent degree preferred
  • Experience
                 A minimum of two years' experience required. Pediatric oncology and/or hospice experience preferred. 
  • Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
    • Unrestricted license to practice in state of residence. (LCSW, RN, etc)
    • Prefer current certification in or plans to obtain certification as a certified Hospice & Palliative Pediatric Nurse (CHPPN) or a certified Hospice & Palliative Care Administrator (CHPCA) within a reasonable timeframe.
