Job Summary:

  • The Hemodialysis Nurse (RN) will be working primarily with the multi-disciplinary team to provide care for the chronic hemodialysis patient. The Hemodialysis Nurse will be primarily trained to perform the Hemodialysis treatment for the outpatient or inpatient population. With secondary training in Peritoneal Dialysis. 

 

  • Education
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
    • Current RN license in the State of Alabama.
    • Current BLS certification.

Additional Information

The Chronic Dialysis Unit manages patients receiving Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, or Home Hemodialysis.  Our patients range in age from newborns to young adults.  Care is specialized to meet the needs of each individual patient.  The Hemodialysis patient receives their dialysis treatment in the clinic 3-6 times a week. The Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Hemodialysis treatments are provided in the patient’s home once the parent/caregiver is trained.  The patient receiving Dialysis is supported by multidisciplinary team members who work together to meet the medical and emotional needs of the patient and caregiver.
