Job Summary

Responsible for assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation for the delivery of patient care. Supervises and evaluates work performance in accordance with established criteria-based standards of performance. Responsible for the coordination of clinical operations.

Responsibilities

- Participate in updating and upholding standards of practice and be a role model to others for maintaining standards of care.

- Assist the Practice Manager in monitoring staff performance, behavior, and competency.

- Participate in the selection and onboarding of new clinical employees.

- Supervise clinical staff, and in consultation with the Practice Manager, address physician concerns with staff as needed.

- Coordinate and provide ongoing clinical training and education of clinical staff.

- Keep up-to-date with clinical practice guidelines and recommendations from the AAP to include immunizations and VIS patient handouts.

- Promote, facilitate and provide education about new practice changes, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies to team members.

- Perform annual appraisals and coach staff based upon results

- Act as the Vaccine Coordinator in accordance with CDC and COA regulations.

- In conjunction with the Practice Manager, maintain clinical staff files including education, health records, and disciplinary forms.

- Be fiscally responsible by ensuring appropriate staffing levels, monitoring and management of supplies and equipment.

- Maintain inventory of vaccines, injectables, and other medical supplies and place weekly orders as needed.

- Communicate and coordinate activities between work areas to best facilitate patient flow and office functions.

- Provide direct patient care as needed.

Education
 
Graduation from an accredited Medical Clinical Laboratory program, Laboratory Medicine program, Medical Technology program, Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing school.
 
Experience
Five (5) years experience in pediatrics, primary care, or specialty office as appropriate and experience supervising clinical employees. Practice Management experience preferred.
 
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
BCLS certification within 30 days of employment
Must have one of the following: Current Registered Nurse License or Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification or Phlebotomy Certification
