  • Job Summary
    • • Oversee the daily operations of the Neuromuscular specialty program and Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinics ensuring efficient workflow and patient care delivery.
    • • Acts as a role model for other staff and creates a positive clinic atmosphere to help with retention of and motivating clinic staff.
    • • Participates in new employee interview process as requested.
    • • Assists Informatics Coordinator with implementation/maintenance of documentation in EMR.
  • Education
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other healthcare related field.
  • Experience
    • At least 7 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, in an outpatient setting
      • OR
    • BSN degree with at least 4 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, preferably outpatient setting
      • OR
    • MSN degree with at least 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, preferably outpatient setting
      • OR
    • Degree in healthcare related field with 5 years of subspecialty experience, preferably in pediatrics, preferably outpatient setting.
      • OR
    • Masters Degree in healthcare related field with 3 years of subspecialty experience, preferably in pediatrics, preferably outpatient setting.
    • Management experience preferred
  • Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
    • Current RN License in the State of Alabama (if applicable)
    • Current BLS certificate required

Additional Information

The division of Pulmonary Medicine specializes in the treatment of patients with a variety of lung and sleep disorders. Specialty clinics include: General Pulmonary Medicine, Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Technology Dependence/Home Ventilators, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD), Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD), and Sleep (including Behavioral Sleep Disorders, Snore, and CPAP/BiPAP management). Board Certified Pulmonologists, Academic Fellows, Residents and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners provide care in this department. Nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, and nutritionists are also a part of the interdisciplinary team.
