Works under the supervision of RNs and LPNs to provide assistive care and communication for patients, team members, professional, and technical staff, and visitors.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent. Candidate must have at least one of the following:

Six months of patient care experience within the last two years.

Enrolled in a medical related college program and in clinical rotation.

CNA,CMA, PCT or EMT certification.

Candidates who are a graduate of an accredited nursing program waiting on NCLEX re-testing will also be considered for this position.

Pediatric ENT Associates (PENTA) at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham specializes in the diagnostic, medical and surgical care of head and neck diseases in infants and children. All five of our physicians are board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology with current Alabama medical licenses, actively publish in peer-review medical journals, and participate as teachers, presenters, and instructors both regionally and nationally.

As the Otolaryngology specialist for Children’s Hospital of Alabama PENTA has the resources to achieve total synergy of care for our patients. Our team of physicians, nurse practitioners and RNs work closely with audiologists, one-day surgery, radiology, sleep study clinic, and HEAR specialists to offer complete care for any ENT diagnosis. Our team performs specialized assessments and procedures in clinic including nasal/otic foreign body removal, auricular hematoma drainage, nasal endoscopy, fiberoptic laryngoscopy, nasopharyngoscopy, lingual frenulectomy, and maxillary frenulectomy with bipolar cautery.
