Job Summary

Neurophysiology ICU Specialist I is an intermediate to advanced position in the Neurophysiology Department. The Neurophysiology ICU Specialist I performs EEGs, LTVM EEGs, and Ambulatory EEGs in the Neurophysiology Department per department policies and procedures. The Neurophysiology ICU Specialist I must be able to use the 10/20 and 10/10 systems for EEG electrode placement, use collodian to apply EEG electrodes, troubleshoot equipment, have a working knowledge of Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology, be able to identify EEG normal variants and abnormalities, provide quality EEG recordings based on patient medical history and EEG findings, demonstrate a flexible and positive attitude, and collaborate well with team members and management. The Neurophysiology ICU Specialist I will monitor EEG studies in the O.R., performs EEGs for research studies, and be utilized as a clinical instructor for students.

Education

Graduation from an Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited Neurodiagnostic Program, and/or Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferred.

2 years EEG experience

1 year of experience in ICU LTM EEG

Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries

R.EEG T. registry required

All external applicants must pass a pre-certification test.

All internal applicants' competencies must be current and have a passing status.
