  • Job Summary
    • The PACS Administrator is responsible for the operational resources for the Cardiovascular Information system (CVIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and Voice Recognition (VR). The Administrator will act as a liaison in digital imaging initiatives between Information Systems, Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Imaging and other departments. This position will serve as first level support to the system users and will subsequently communicate issues to the appropriate IT resources. This resource will provide daily operational support to system users. This resource will be the primary contact in the Cardiology department in all planning and project implementations. This position will demonstrate the ability to work independently and guide the customer through workflow improvements.

      The PACS Administrator must possess strong analytical, problem solving, trouble shooting, good communication, good organizational and planning skills.   • Education
    • Undergraduate degree in computer science, Radiologic technology, health administration or related field preferred. Equivalent education and/or experience may also qualify.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in cardiology and/or information systems required.
    • Experience working with CVIS in a Cardiology Department, to include workflow of departmental needs of physicians, policies and procedures, JCAHO and HIPAA preferred.
  • Licensure, Certifications, and/or Registries
    • Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Cardiac Interventional Radiology (CI), Radiographer (R), Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT), Ultrasound Technologist (RDMS), MRI or CT Technologist by Certification Board of Nuclear Medicine (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) preferred.
